Snack/breakfast Bowl

Why not put a few ingredients together to create a fun and healthy snack or breakfast bowl?  Three ingredients are needed: cereal, yogurt, and strawberries.

(Count the number of ingredients. Find a bowl that will be the right portion size.)

First, children can add some cereal into their bowl for some nice crunch.

(Using a spoon, count how many spoonfuls of cereal go into the bowl. Counting the number of cereal piece might be a fun math activity, too. Talk about the color and shape of the cereal. Predict what it might taste like.)

Next,  they can spoon in some yogurt. Use a favorite flavor or mix different ones together.

(Talk about the color of the yogurt. Compare the texture of the yogurt to the cereal’s texture. Predict what the yogurt will taste like. What words could describe the taste?)

Top if off  with sliced strawberries. When sat on a red napkin or tablecloth this snack/breakfast bowl is inviting as well as tasty!

(Count the number of strawberry pieces. Compare the strawberry to the yogurt and cereal – what is different? is anything the same? Predict how the strawberry will taste.)

Enjoy!
